Uncover Home Health & Safety Problems
The home environment is a potential source of health problems. Our Home Health and Safety Inspection is designed to uncover potential problems so you can resolve them early.
Mold and Air Quality
We utilize the latest technology to detect mold and find moisture intrusion that can lead to mold growth.
Air quality is about more than mold. Consider asbestos, radon, and drywall volatile organic compounds (VOCs) like formaldehyde. We offer comprehensive mold testing services, including:
- Mold inspection
- Asbestos testing
- Air quality testing
- Radon testing
- Follow up inspections after mold remediation
Professional Indoor Air Quality Testing
We combine several indoor air quality tests to understand the particulate matter and spores floating in your air:
- Viable Test: Detects living microorganisms like bacteria, yeast, and mold.
- Non-viable Test: Detect non-living particles such as dust, skin cells, and clothing fibers.
Both types of tests are important for understanding overall air quality and identifying potential sources of contamination.
We also offer swab testing. If there is concern or evidence of mold growth in a specific area, we can swab that area and send it off to the lab for testing.
Water Testing
We test your drinking water for the presence the chemical and microbiological contaminants. In fact, routine testing for common contaminants is highly recommended, even if your water currently appears safe.
We perform PFAS analysis and achieve low reporting limits that meet the EPA regulatory guidelines for safe drinking water.
Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) are widely used, long lasting chemicals, components of which break down very slowly over time. These are man-made chemicals that have been used in various products since the 1950s.
- microPer- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS)
- NH4, NOx, Ortho-P, EC, and pH
- TKN and Total P
- lead and other metals analysis
- Coliforms, microbiology, bacteria
- Radiochemical (Radium 226, Radium 228, Total Uranium)
- Ions and Non-metals (Chloride, Nitrite and Nitrate)
Well Owners
The National Ground Water Association (NGWA) recommends well water be tested for bacteria, nitrates, and local contaminants at least yearly.
More frequent testing should be considered if your water changes (taste, odor, or appearance), somebody has recurring gastrointestinal illness, contaminants appear in nearby well water.
Sewer Scope
We use a specialized camera to inspect the condition of your sewer line from your house to the main sewer line. A sewer scope can reveal blockages, cracks, tree root intrusions, and other damage to the pipe system.
We can identify problems before water leaks into the foundation or raw sewage backs up into your home. You will be provided a video of lines.
Radon Testing
The Florida Department of Health estimates that 1 in 5 Florida homes contain radon above the Action Level (4 picoCurie per liter) that was set by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
Our Radon testing shows you the radon levels in your home so you can mediate any problems.
Why Test for Radon
You can’t see it, smell it or taste it, but radon, a Class A carcinogen, is the leading cause of lung cancer for non-smokers. It occurs naturally in many soils and seeps into homes through the foundation. Over time, indoor air can reach radon levels above the EPA’s Action Level.
Infrared Camera Inspection
Infrared cameras show where your house is wasting energy. That’s a top reason we use them. Infared cameras can show places where insulation is missing and pinpoint drafty areas around doors and windows.
More Than Heat: Moisture, Pests, Electrical Issues
But they reveal more than just heating and cooling issues. They highlight moisture intrusion and hidden leaks behind walls. Often times, these issues aren’t discovered until the damage is severe. Catching them early can save thousands in repairs and many headaches.
Locate Electrical Overheating: The infrared camera can detect circuits or breakers in the electrical panel that are overheating, catching them before they become a fire hazard
The thermal imaging or infrared camera inspection is a non invasive way to see what is going on behind the walls. It can give you peace of mind when you are buying or selling and uncover hidden problems.
That’s why an infrared inspection is part of our Home Health and Safety Inspection.
